Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 0.5 tsp kosher salt
- 0.5 tsp cracked black pepper
- 0.33 cup raw honey
- 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
Instructions:
- Pat the chicken pieces completely dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the chicken with avocado oil until coated. Add the cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, shaking until every piece has a dull, powdery coating.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring pieces are not touching.
- Air fry for 12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the coating is crispy and golden.
- While the chicken is cooking, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and rice vinegar in a small bowl.
- Transfer the crispy chicken into a bowl and toss with the honey garlic glaze. Return the glazed chicken to the air fryer for a final 2 minutes at 400°F to caramelize the sauce into a high-gloss finish.
