Ingredients:
- 1 ½ lbs (680g) chicken wings, split and tips removed
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) peri-peri sauce
- 1 tsp (5 ml) smoked paprika
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) garlic powder
- ½ tsp (2.5 ml) onion powder
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley or lemon wedges (optional garnish)
Instructions:
- Pat the chicken wings thoroughly dry with paper towels.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, peri-peri sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
- Arrange the marinated wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overlapping. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Cook the wings for 24 to 28 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the air fryer peri peri chicken wings from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley or lemon.
