Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ lbs (680g) chicken wings, split and tips removed
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) olive oil
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) peri-peri sauce
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp (2.5 ml) garlic powder
  • ½ tsp (2.5 ml) onion powder
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley or lemon wedges (optional garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Pat the chicken wings thoroughly dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, peri-peri sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
  5. Arrange the marinated wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overlapping. Cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Cook the wings for 24 to 28 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Remove the air fryer peri peri chicken wings from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley or lemon.
