Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (250g)
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed (57g)
- 3/4 cup buttermilk (180ml)
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
- Add cold, cubed butter and combine until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in ground cumin, coriander, paprika, honey, and cayenne pepper until evenly distributed.
- Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Avoid over-mixing.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- On a floured surface, roll the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits.
- Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving.
