Ingredients:
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour (440g)
- ¼ cup granulated sugar (50g)
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast (7g)
- 1 teaspoon salt (5g)
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed (240ml)
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted (75g)
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup jam or fruit preserves (160g)
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened (120g)
- ½ cup chocolate chips (90g)
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Coarse sea salt (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together warmed milk, melted butter, and egg.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients to form a sticky dough.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out risen dough into a large circle and cut into triangles.
- Place desired filling at the wider end of each triangle.
- Roll up the triangle from the wide end to the tip to form a crescent shape.
- Place crescents on prepared baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
