Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (220g) packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (100g) chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until edges are golden but the centers are soft.
  8. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
