Ingredients:
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
- 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter, melted
- 6 ounces (170g) fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into 12 small cubes
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- 1/4 cup (30g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Optional: crushed red pepper flakes for a kick
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together milk and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.
- Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and divide it into 12 equal portions.
- Place a cube of mozzarella and a pinch of basil in the center of each dough portion.
- Enclose the cheese by folding the dough over it and rolling into a ball shape.
- Place cheese bombs on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Lightly brush each bomb with olive oil and sprinkle with Parmesan and optional crushed red pepper flakes.
- Bake for 10 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
