Ingredients:
- oz (180 ml) Boiling Water (off the rolling boil)
- oz (60 ml) Bourbon or Scotch Whisky
- oz (22 ml) Fresh Lemon Juice
- to 1.5 Tbsp Honey (adjust to taste)
- Garnish: 1 Lemon Wheel/Twist and 3 Whole Cloves
Instructions:
- Place the measured honey into the bottom of your serving mug.
- Squeeze the fresh lemon juice and add it directly over the honey in the mug.
- Pour about 1 ounce (30ml) of nearly boiling water into the mug. Stir vigorously until the honey is completely dissolved into the lemon water mixture.
- Measure and pour the whisky (or bourbon) into the mug.
- Fill the remainder of the mug with the hot water, leaving about half an inch headspace at the rim. Stir gently to combine all ingredients.
- If using, skewer the lemon wheel with the three whole cloves and rest it on the rim of the mug, or express the oils from a lemon twist over the surface before dropping it in. Serve immediately while steaming hot.
