Ingredients:
- 1 cup (230 g) unsalted butter
Instructions:
- Cut the unsalted butter into uniform pieces for even melting.
- Place the butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.
- Once melted, gently swirl the pan to distribute the heat evenly.
- Continue to cook, keeping an eye on the bubbling, until the butter foams.
- As it cooks, look for the milk solids to sink and start turning golden brown.
- Once the butter emits a rich, nutty smell and turns brown (about 5-10 minutes total), remove it from heat.
- Pour the brown butter through a fine mesh strainer into a heat-resistant bowl or measuring cup to remove the solids if desired.
