Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14-ounce) can of crushed tomatoes
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- 12 ounces capellini
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
- Gather and measure all ingredients. Chop the basil and mince the garlic.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add capellini and cook for 2-4 minutes. Reserve some pasta water, then drain.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Add cooked capellini to the sauce, tossing gently. Adjust with reserved pasta water if needed.
- Stir in chopped basil, season as needed, and serve hot garnished with basil and Parmesan cheese.
