- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (175g) chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
- 2 cups (340g) chocolate chips (dark or milk chocolate)
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for sheen)
- Sea salt for sprinkling
- Additional toppings like crushed nuts or sprinkles
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line the baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal.
- In a bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but the center is still soft.
- Allow the cookie layer to cool in the pan while preparing the chocolate layer.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Once the cookie layer is cool, spread the melted chocolate evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle with sea salt and any additional toppings you desire.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until the chocolate sets.
- Remove from the pan using parchment overhang, cut into pieces, and enjoy!
