Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole milk (480 ml)
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (100 g)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Place the ramekins in a baking dish and fill the dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk until just steaming but not boiling.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually whisk hot milk into the egg mixture until thoroughly combined.
- Carefully pour the custard mixture into prepared ramekins.
- Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the custard is set and a knife inserted comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven, allow to cool for 10 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
