Ingredients:
- fl oz Hot Water (just off the boil)
- fl oz Bourbon Whiskey (mid-to-high-proof)
- fl oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- Tablespoon Dark Honey (e.g., wildflower)
- Cinnamon Stick (for stirring)
- thin Lemon Wheel or Twist (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Bring the water to a rolling boil using a kettle or small saucepan.
- In the serving mug, combine the honey and fresh lemon juice.
- Pour about 1 ounce (30 ml) of the hot water over the honey and lemon mixture. Stir vigorously until the honey is completely dissolved, creating a syrup base.
- Pour in the measured bourbon whiskey.
- Fill the remainder of the mug with the hot water, leaving about a half-inch space at the top. Stir gently to incorporate all ingredients.
- Insert the cinnamon stick and float a thin lemon wheel or peel on top. Serve immediately while piping hot.
