Ingredients:

  • 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (6g) baking soda
  • ½ tsp (3g) salt
  • ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup (165g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy. (2-3 minutes)
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.
  7. Chill the dough in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges but soft in the centre.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
