Ingredients:
- 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (6g) baking soda
- ½ tsp (3g) salt
- ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
- ¾ cup (165g) packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy. (2-3 minutes)
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.
- Chill the dough in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges but soft in the centre.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
