Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (165g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon (6g) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3g) salt
  • 2 cups (340g) semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly using a spatula or wooden spoon.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
