Ingredients:

  • 2 oz white rum
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 tsp superfine sugar
  • 8 fresh mint leaves
  • 3 oz chilled club soda
  • 1 cup crushed ice

Instructions:

  1. Place the mint leaves, sugar, and lime juice in the bottom of a highball glass. Using a muddler, press down gently 3-4 times to release aromatic oils without shredding the leaves.
  2. Pour in the white rum and stir briefly with a bar spoon to ensure the sugar is fully dissolved.
  3. Fill the glass 3/4 full with crushed ice and top with chilled club soda.
  4. Use a long spoon to gently lift the mint leaves from the bottom toward the top of the glass to distribute flavor. Top with additional ice and a slapped mint sprig for aroma.
