Ingredients:
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (240ml) water
- 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- Chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, dulce de leche (Optional)
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and quickly stir in the flour until a smooth dough forms.
- Let the dough cool slightly (about 5 minutes). Transfer to a mixing bowl. Add vanilla extract. Beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated. The dough should be smooth and pipeable.
- In a shallow dish, combine sugar and cinnamon.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip (or use a zip-top bag with a corner snipped off). Pipe small bite-sized portions onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or directly into the air fryer basket (if you trust your piping skills!).
- Preheat your air fryer if your model requires it. Arrange the churro bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Immediately transfer the cooked churro bites to the cinnamon sugar mixture and toss to coat evenly.
- Serve warm with your favourite dipping sauce.
