Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (240ml) water
  • 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, dulce de leche (Optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Remove from heat and quickly stir in the flour until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Let the dough cool slightly (about 5 minutes). Transfer to a mixing bowl. Add vanilla extract. Beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated. The dough should be smooth and pipeable.
  4. In a shallow dish, combine sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip (or use a zip-top bag with a corner snipped off). Pipe small bite-sized portions onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or directly into the air fryer basket (if you trust your piping skills!).
  6. Preheat your air fryer if your model requires it. Arrange the churro bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Immediately transfer the cooked churro bites to the cinnamon sugar mixture and toss to coat evenly.
  8. Serve warm with your favourite dipping sauce.
