Ingredients:

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (200 g)
  • 2 cups water (480 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter or olive oil (optional, 14 g)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (2.5 g)

Instructions:

  1. Place the rice in a strainer and rinse under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a medium saucepan, add the measured water, stir in salt and optional butter or oil, and bring to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Once boiling, add the rinsed rice to the pot and stir just once to ensure even distribution.
  4. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid, reduce heat to low, and let it simmer without lifting the lid for 15-20 minutes.
  5. After cooking time, turn off the heat and let the rice sit, covered, for 5 minutes, then fluff gently with a fork.
