Ingredients:

  • 2 ¼ cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoon Fine Sea Salt
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
  • ¾ cup Granulated Sugar
  • ¾ cup Packed Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 ½ cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • ½ cup Chopped Walnuts or Pecans (Optional)
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks or Discs (For Topping)
  • Pinch of Flaky Sea Salt (For Finishing)

Instructions:

  1. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy—this takes about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the 1 ½ cups of chocolate chips and any nuts using a spatula.
  6. Cover the bowl and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your 12-inch or 14-inch pizza pan with parchment paper.
  8. Transfer the chilled dough onto the parchment paper. Use your hands (lightly greased or floured) to press the dough evenly into a 12–14 inch circle, creating a slight rim.
  9. Scatter the remaining 1 cup of chocolate chunks or discs evenly over the surface of the dough.
  10. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes. The edges should be set and lightly golden brown, but the center should still look slightly soft.
  11. Immediately sprinkle the top lightly with flaky sea salt (if using). Let the pizza cool on the pan for 10 minutes before carefully sliding it onto a cooling rack.
  12. Slice and serve warm.
