Ingredients:
- 2 ¼ cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
- ½ teaspoon Fine Sea Salt
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
- ¾ cup Granulated Sugar
- ¾ cup Packed Light Brown Sugar
- 2 Large Eggs
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1 ½ cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- ½ cup Chopped Walnuts or Pecans (Optional)
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks or Discs (For Topping)
- Pinch of Flaky Sea Salt (For Finishing)
Instructions:
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy—this takes about 3-4 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the 1 ½ cups of chocolate chips and any nuts using a spatula.
- Cover the bowl and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your 12-inch or 14-inch pizza pan with parchment paper.
- Transfer the chilled dough onto the parchment paper. Use your hands (lightly greased or floured) to press the dough evenly into a 12–14 inch circle, creating a slight rim.
- Scatter the remaining 1 cup of chocolate chunks or discs evenly over the surface of the dough.
- Bake for 18 to 22 minutes. The edges should be set and lightly golden brown, but the center should still look slightly soft.
- Immediately sprinkle the top lightly with flaky sea salt (if using). Let the pizza cool on the pan for 10 minutes before carefully sliding it onto a cooling rack.
- Slice and serve warm.
