- 3-4 cups (360-480g) powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
- 1-2 tablespoons (15-30ml) milk or heavy cream
- Pinch of salt

- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating on low speed to prevent a sugar cloud.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and salt until well combined.
- Add milk or heavy cream, one tablespoon at a time, until the icing reaches your desired consistency.
- For a firmer icing, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes (optional).
