Ingredients:
- 600g yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tbsp water
- 115g plain Greek yogurt
- 115g sour cream
- 115g cream cheese, softened
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 15g fresh chives, finely chopped
Instructions:
- Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick skillet or cast iron pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and salt, stirring occasionally.
- Once the onions soften, add the tablespoon of water to prevent burning. Continue cooking until the onions reach a deep mahogany-brown color. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
- In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Fold in the Greek yogurt, sour cream, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Stir in the garlic powder and black pepper until the mixture reaches a uniform, velvety consistency.
- Gently fold the cooled caramelized onions into the creamy base using a spatula, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
- Transfer the dip to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to marry and the dip to set. Garnish with finely chopped chives before serving.
