Ingredients:

  • 600g yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 115g plain Greek yogurt
  • 115g sour cream
  • 115g cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 15g fresh chives, finely chopped

Instructions:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick skillet or cast iron pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and salt, stirring occasionally.
  2. Once the onions soften, add the tablespoon of water to prevent burning. Continue cooking until the onions reach a deep mahogany-brown color. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Fold in the Greek yogurt, sour cream, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Stir in the garlic powder and black pepper until the mixture reaches a uniform, velvety consistency.
  5. Gently fold the cooled caramelized onions into the creamy base using a spatula, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  6. Transfer the dip to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to marry and the dip to set. Garnish with finely chopped chives before serving.
