Ingredients:
- 12 oz fettuccine or your pasta of choice
- Salt (for pasta water)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste
- 1 cup frozen peas
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Boil water in a large pot and add salt. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in heavy cream and broth, bringing to a gentle simmer. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, cooking for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in frozen peas and grated Parmesan cheese. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until peas are heated through.
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Plate the pasta, garnishing with fresh parsley. Enjoy immediately!
