Ingredients:
- 1 Large Egg
- 4 ounces (115g) Feta Cheese, crumbled
- 1 teaspoon Olive Oil
- 1/4 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon Dried Thyme
- Pinch of Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
- Salt and Black Pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, gently combine the crumbled feta with the oregano, thyme, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Shape the feta mixture into a compact, round patty about 3-4 inches in diameter. Gently press to compact.
- Heat the olive oil in the non-stick skillet over medium heat. Carefully place the feta patty in the skillet.
- Cook the feta patty for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
- Gently crack the egg into the center of the crispy feta patty.
- Cook until the egg white is set, and the yolk is cooked to your liking (about 2-3 minutes for a runny yolk, longer for a firmer yolk). Season with salt and pepper.
- Carefully remove the Crispy Feta Nest Egg from the skillet with a spatula. Garnish with fresh parsley (if using) and serve immediately.
