Ingredients:

  • 1 Large Egg
  • 4 ounces (115g) Feta Cheese, crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon Olive Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • Pinch of Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
  • Salt and Black Pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, gently combine the crumbled feta with the oregano, thyme, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  2. Shape the feta mixture into a compact, round patty about 3-4 inches in diameter. Gently press to compact.
  3. Heat the olive oil in the non-stick skillet over medium heat. Carefully place the feta patty in the skillet.
  4. Cook the feta patty for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  5. Gently crack the egg into the center of the crispy feta patty.
  6. Cook until the egg white is set, and the yolk is cooked to your liking (about 2-3 minutes for a runny yolk, longer for a firmer yolk). Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Carefully remove the Crispy Feta Nest Egg from the skillet with a spatula. Garnish with fresh parsley (if using) and serve immediately.
