Ingredients:
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced (e.g., kielbasa or andouille)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Cooked rice, mashed potatoes, or egg noodles (for serving)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Slice the smoked sausage into bite-sized pieces. Dice the onion and mince the garlic.
- If desired, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the sliced sausage for 3-4 minutes until lightly crispy.
- Add the sausage, diced onion, minced garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker.
- In a small bowl, whisk the flour with the heavy cream until smooth, then stir into the crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours, until the gravy thickens and flavors meld.
- Stir well before serving, adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles, garnished with parsley.
