- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:
- Gather all ingredients at room temperature.
- Using a sifter, sift together the powdered sugar and cocoa powder in a bowl to avoid lumps.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy (about 2 minutes).
- Gradually add the sifted sugar and cocoa mixture to the creamed butter, mixing on low speed to prevent a sugar cloud.
- Add heavy cream and vanilla extract. Beat until the mixture is light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
- Add a pinch of salt to enhance flavor if desired; beat again briefly.
- For easier spreading or piping, chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
- Apply immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge; re-whip before using.
