Ingredients:
- 8 oz (225 g) dark chocolate, finely chopped
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions:
- Measure and chop the dark chocolate. Heat the cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
- Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate in the heatproof bowl.
- Let sit for 2-3 minutes to soften the chocolate. Using a whisk or spatula, gently stir the mixture until it is smooth and glossy.
- If the ganache is not smooth, place the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and stir gently until fully melted.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and salt; mix until combined.
- Allow ganache to cool at room temperature to achieve desired consistency for pouring or spreading.
