Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (225 g) dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Measure and chop the dark chocolate. Heat the cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
  2. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate in the heatproof bowl.
  3. Let sit for 2-3 minutes to soften the chocolate. Using a whisk or spatula, gently stir the mixture until it is smooth and glossy.
  4. If the ganache is not smooth, place the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and stir gently until fully melted.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and salt; mix until combined.
  6. Allow ganache to cool at room temperature to achieve desired consistency for pouring or spreading.
