- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup (30g) all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
- Fresh berries (e.g., raspberries or strawberries)
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Grease ramekins with butter and dust with flour, tapping out excess.
- Melt the chocolate and butter together in a double boiler or microwave until smooth; stir occasionally.
- Whisk eggs, egg yolks, and sugar in a separate mixing bowl until pale and slightly thickened.
- Add melted chocolate mixture to the eggs; whisk until fully combined.
- Stir in vanilla, flour, and salt until just incorporated.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
- Place ramekins on a baking tray and bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are firm but the centers are soft.
- Let cool for 1 minute, then carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate to release the cake.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately with fresh berries and ice cream, if desired.
