Ingredients:
- 6 ounces (170g) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, high quality (Ghirardelli or similar)
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Heavy Cream
- 2 tablespoons (30g) Unsalted Butter
- 1/2 cup (60g) Powdered Sugar, sifted to remove lumps
- 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- Pinch of Sea Salt
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream and butter over medium-low heat until butter is melted and cream is simmering gently. Do not boil.
- Place chocolate chips in the heatproof bowl. Pour the hot cream mixture over the chocolate. Let sit for 1 minute to soften the chocolate.
- Gently whisk the chocolate and cream mixture until completely smooth and glossy. Be patient, it might take a minute or two.
- Whisk in the sifted powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until fully incorporated and the glaze is silky smooth.
- Dip each donut into the warm glaze, letting any excess drip off. Place glazed donuts on a wire rack to set. The result is perfect chocolate donut icing.
