Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup (110g) unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup (120ml) unsweetened applesauce
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Mix in the applesauce and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Gently stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop scoops of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
- Allow cookies to cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
