Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (110g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (120ml) unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Mix in the applesauce and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Gently stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  7. Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  8. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop scoops of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned.
  10. Allow cookies to cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
