Ingredients:
- 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 tbsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening
- 1 pint of your favorite ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, mint, etc.)
- Optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, or flaky sea salt
Instructions:
- Scoop ice cream into uniform balls or shapes and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- In a small bowl, combine chopped chocolate and coconut oil. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Remove ice cream scoops from the freezer. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each ice cream scoop into the melted chocolate. Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
- Sprinkle crushed nuts, sprinkles, or flaky sea salt over the chocolate before it sets.
- Return the dipped ice cream to the freezer for at least 10 minutes to set the chocolate.
