Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk (or heavy cream)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning or 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions:

  1. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant (1-2 minutes).
  2. Sprinkle flour over garlic and butter. Whisk constantly for 1 minute to create a roux.
  3. Gradually pour in milk, whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Thicken sauce (3-5 minutes).
  4. Reduce heat to low. Stir in Parmesan until melted and smooth.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Add Italian seasoning or parsley (if using). Cool slightly.
