Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk (or heavy cream)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt to taste
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning or 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
- Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant (1-2 minutes).
- Sprinkle flour over garlic and butter. Whisk constantly for 1 minute to create a roux.
- Gradually pour in milk, whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Thicken sauce (3-5 minutes).
- Reduce heat to low. Stir in Parmesan until melted and smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper. Add Italian seasoning or parsley (if using). Cool slightly.
