Ingredients:
- 1 cup warm milk (105°F)
- 1 packet (2.25 tsp) instant yeast
- 0.25 cup granulated sugar
- 0.33 cup melted unsalted butter
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp fine sea salt
- 0.5 cup softened unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2.5 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 0.5 cup heavy cream, room temperature
- 4 oz softened cream cheese
- 0.25 cup softened unsalted butter
- 1.5 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
- In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm milk (105°F), granulated sugar, and instant yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Whisk in the melted butter and egg. Gradually add all-purpose flour and salt using a dough hook until a soft, slightly tacky dough forms.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll into a 12x18 inch rectangle.
- Spread 0.5 cup softened butter over the dough. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the butter.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log. Use unflavored dental floss to slice into 12 even rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased 9x13-inch baking pan. Pour 0.5 cup heavy cream over and around the rolls.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Whisk cream cheese, 0.25 cup butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Spread over warm rolls before serving.
