Ingredients:
- 4 cups (500g) all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons (25g) sugar
- 2 teaspoons (7g) salt
- 1 packet (2 teaspoons or 7g) instant yeast
- 1 cup (240ml) warm milk (about 110°F/43°C)
- 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Pour in warm milk, melted butter, and beaten egg.
- Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
- Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface; knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in the greased loaf pan.
- Cover the pan and allow the dough to rise for another 30-45 minutes until it rises above the edge of the pan.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown, and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
- Let the loaf cool in the pan for a few minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
