Ingredients:

  • 4 cups (500g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons (10g) salt
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons (7g) instant yeast
  • 1 ½ cups (360ml) warm milk (110°F or 43°C)
  • 3 tablespoons (42g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

Instructions:

  1. Combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
  3. Add melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture and stir to combine.
  4. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough, divide it into 12 equal pieces, and shape each piece into a roll.
  7. Arrange rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake rolls for 20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
