Ingredients:
- 1 cup heavy cream (preferably chilled)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions:
- Chill your mixing bowl and beaters/whisk in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes.
- Pour the chilled heavy cream into the bowl. Add the granulated sugar and vanilla extract if using.
- Using an electric mixer or whisk, start whipping the cream on medium speed.
- Whisk until soft peaks form, about 3-4 minutes. Soft peaks should gently hold their shape and slightly bend when lifted.
- Increase speed and whip until stiff peaks form, about 1-2 minutes more. Be careful not to over-whip, as it can turn into butter.
- Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours before serving.
