Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) warm water (about 110°F/43°C)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) sugar
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups (360 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons (10 g) salt
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (7 g) bread machine yeast (or 1 packet)

Instructions:

  1. Ensure the bread pan and kneading blade are clean and properly assembled.
  2. Pour warm water into the bread pan. Add sugar and softened butter, stirring gently if necessary.
  3. Carefully add the flour over the wet ingredients, ensuring it covers the water entirely. Sprinkle salt and yeast on top of the flour without stirring.
  4. Choose the 'Basic' or 'White Bread' setting on your bread maker and set the desired crust preference.
  5. Close the lid and start the machine. Keep an eye on the dough during the first few minutes of kneading to ensure it forms a smooth ball.
  6. When the baking cycle is complete, carefully remove the bread from the pan and allow it to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
