Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (227 g) sushi-grade tuna, diced
  • 1 ripe avocado, diced
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sriracha (optional, for heat)
  • 1/4 cup (15 g) green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon (15 g) sesame seeds, toasted
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Tortilla chips or cucumber slices (for scooping)
  • Microgreens or cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Ensure tuna is sushi-grade and properly chilled. Dice tuna into small, uniform pieces. Dice avocado and place it in a separate bowl to avoid browning.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, and sriracha (if using).
  3. Gently fold the diced tuna into the dressing, being careful not to mash it. Add chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and diced avocado to the tuna mixture.
  4. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Serve chilled, garnished with microgreens or cilantro, alongside tortilla chips or cucumber slices.
