Ingredients:
- 8 oz (225g) Halloumi Cheese, drained and patted dry
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) Olive Oil
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Honey
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) Red Wine Vinegar
- 1/2-1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
- Pinch of Salt
- Fresh Thyme sprigs (optional)
- Sesame Seeds (optional)
- Chili threads (optional)
Instructions:
- Combine honey, red wine vinegar, red pepper flakes, and salt in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the honey is thinned and the ingredients are well combined (about 2-3 minutes). Keep warm.
- Slice the halloumi into ½-inch (1 cm) thick slices. Pat the slices dry with paper towels – this helps them get a nice crispy crust.
- Heat the olive oil in a frying pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the halloumi slices in a single layer (don't overcrowd the pan).
- Fry the halloumi for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy. Be careful not to burn it.
- Transfer the fried halloumi to a serving platter. Drizzle generously with the hot honey. Garnish with fresh thyme sprigs, sesame seeds and chili threads (if desired). Serve immediately.
