Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Whisk until dry ingredients are well incorporated.
- Add milk and egg; mix until smooth and lump-free.
- Allow the batter to rest for 15 minutes.
- In a deep frying pan, pour enough oil to cover the Oreos (about 2-3 inches deep).
- Heat oil to 375°F (190°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.
- Dip each Oreo into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
- Carefully lower the coated Oreos into the hot oil, a few at a time.
- Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- Dust with powdered sugar and drizzle with chocolate syrup if desired.
