Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks or 227g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4-6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roast garlic in a small roasting pan until soft and fragrant. Cool and squeeze out the roasted garlic.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic (or roasted garlic), parsley, chives, rosemary (if using), thyme (if using), salt, pepper, and lemon juice (if using).
  3. Using a rubber spatula or wooden spoon, mix all ingredients until well combined. The mixture should be homogenous and the herbs evenly distributed throughout the butter.
  4. Transfer the garlic herb butter to a sheet of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Shape it into a log or disc. Wrap tightly and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Serve the garlic herb butter at room temperature or slightly chilled. Slice as needed.
