Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups (360 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (340 g) chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar; beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in the vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture; mix until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  8. Using a cookie scoop, drop large balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
