Ingredients:

  • 1 crusty French Baguette or Ciabatta Loaf (day-old is perfect)
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large cloves fresh garlic, minced finely
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano (or Italian Seasoning)
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan Cheese (optional finish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line two standard baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper (and Parmesan, if using). Mix vigorously until the mixture is fully incorporated into a fragrant, smooth paste.
  3. Slice the baguette diagonally into pieces approximately 1/2-inch (1.25 cm) thick. Lay the slices flat on the prepared baking sheets in a single layer; avoid crowding the pan.
  4. Generously spread the prepared garlic butter mixture over the top surface of each bread slice, ensuring even coverage.
  5. Bake for 7–10 minutes until the butter is sizzling and the edges begin to turn golden brown.
  6. Remove the sheets from the oven, carefully flip each crostini, and return to the oven for another 3–5 minutes. For extra crispness, switch the oven to the broiler setting for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the Garlic Bread Crostini cool slightly on the tray to allow them to firm up completely before serving.
