Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices crispy cooked bacon
  • 1 large ripe tomato, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons mustard

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties, about 1 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking. Chill the patties in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F or 200°C).
  3. Place the patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes. Add cheese slices during the last minute of cooking, allowing them to melt.
  4. Lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill. Spread mayonnaise on the bottoms of each bun. Place the cooked patties on top, followed by bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Add ketchup and mustard as desired. Top with the other half of the bun.
  5. Serve the burgers immediately with your choice of sides.
