Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 tsp (5 g) onion powder
  • 1 tsp (5 g) garlic powder
  • 1 tsp (5 g) salt
  • 1/2 tsp (2 g) black pepper
  • 1 tsp (5 g) Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Ketchup and mustard (to taste)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions (about 5.5 oz each) and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4-inch thick.
  3. Cover the patties with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F/190-200°C).
  5. Lightly oil the grill grates and place the patties on the grill. Grill for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for 4-6 minutes.
  6. In the last minute of cooking, add cheese on top of the patties and close the grill lid to allow it to melt.
  7. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill if desired. Place each patty on a bun and top with lettuce, tomato, and condiments.
