Ingredients:

  • 2 large overripe bananas
  • 0.5 cup natural creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups rolled old fashioned oats
  • 0.25 cup vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp sea salt
  • 0.33 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp hemp hearts

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mash the 2 overripe bananas with a sturdy fork until they reach a smooth, liquid-like consistency.
  2. Whisk in the peanut butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir vigorously until the mixture is fully emulsified and glossy.
  3. Fold in the rolled oats, protein powder, cinnamon, and sea salt using a spatula until no dry pockets remain.
  4. Allow the dough to rest for 5 minutes. This hydration phase ensures the oats absorb moisture for a chewy texture. Fold in chocolate chips and hemp hearts after the rest.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Use a cookie scoop to place 12 mounds on a parchment-lined baking sheet and gently flatten with a spoon.
  6. Bake for 12 minutes until the edges are golden-brown. Let cool on the pan to firm up before serving.
