Ingredients:
- 1 (30 oz) bag frozen hash browns (850 g)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (30 g), melted
- 1 pound breakfast sausage (450 g), cooked and crumbled
- 8 large eggs (about 400 g)
- 1 cup whole milk (240 ml)
- 1 teaspoon salt (5 g)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper (2 g)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (4 g)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (100 g)
- ½ cup chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease the baking dish with cooking spray or melted butter.
- In the mixing bowl, toss the frozen hash browns with melted butter until evenly coated.
- Press the hash brown mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a crust.
- Bake the hash brown crust for 20 minutes until lightly golden.
- While the crust is baking, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a separate bowl.
- Once the crust is done, remove from the oven and layer the crumbled sausage over the hash browns.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage layer.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and green onions on top.
- Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes until the egg is set and the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
