Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 4-6 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large loaf crusty Italian or French bread (about 12-15 inches)
- 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
- Slice the bread in half horizontally, ensuring you're not cutting all the way through; leave a hinge.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over each half of the bread.
- If using, sprinkle grated Parmesan on top of the butter mixture.
- Wrap the bread halves in aluminum foil for softer garlic bread (optional).
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, until golden and fragrant.
- Remove from oven, slice into pieces, and serve warm.
