Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) honey
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
  • 8 ounces (225g) Halloumi cheese, sliced into ½-inch (1.25cm) thick pieces

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, lemon juice, red pepper flakes (if using), and olive oil until well combined.
  2. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Place the halloumi slices in the hot pan, ensuring they aren't overcrowded. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly softened.
  4. Pour the honey glaze over the halloumi slices in the pan. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, turning the halloumi to ensure it's evenly coated and the glaze is slightly caramelised. Watch closely to prevent burning!
  5. Remove the Honey Glazed Hallomui from the pan and serve immediately.
