Ingredients:

  • 1 stick (1/2 cup / 113g) Unsalted Butter, cut into even pieces

Instructions:

  1. Place the butter in the saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Once melted, the butter will start to simmer and foam. Continue to cook, swirling the pan occasionally.
  3. The butter will begin to change color, turning from yellow to golden to amber. The foam will subside, and you'll see brown specks forming at the bottom of the pan. Sniff often! You'll know it is ready when you smell a nutty aroma
  4. Remove from heat immediately when the butter turns a deep amber color and has a nutty aroma. Be quick!
  5. Pour the browned butter into a heatproof bowl to prevent it from continuing to cook in the hot pan (optional, but recommended).
  6. Use immediately as desired!
