Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons (25g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (4g) instant yeast
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1g) salt
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) whole milk, warmed
  • 1 tablespoon (14g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons (25g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup (30g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
  2. Add warmed milk and melted butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Incorporate the beaten egg and knead until smooth.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm spot for about 30 minutes until slightly doubled.
  5. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
  6. Once dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.
  7. Spread the filling evenly over the rolled dough, then roll up tightly from the short end.
  8. Slice the rolled dough into 6 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  9. Cover with a clean towel and let rise for an additional 20 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. In a bowl, whisk together cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  12. Once baked, drizzle the frosting over warm cinnamon rolls and serve immediately.
