- 2 tablespoons (30g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons (25g) brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons (30g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup (30g) powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
- Add warmed milk and melted butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Incorporate the beaten egg and knead until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm spot for about 30 minutes until slightly doubled.
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Once dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.
- Spread the filling evenly over the rolled dough, then roll up tightly from the short end.
- Slice the rolled dough into 6 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover with a clean towel and let rise for an additional 20 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- In a bowl, whisk together cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Once baked, drizzle the frosting over warm cinnamon rolls and serve immediately.
