Ingredients:

  • 4 quarts water
  • 1 (3-ounce) package crab boil seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning blend
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 lemons, quartered
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound small red potatoes, halved
  • 2 ears corn, shucked and cut into thirds
  • 1 pound smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound snow crab legs (optional)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Fill a large pot with water. Add crab boil seasoning, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), lemon quarters, onion, and garlic. Bring to a rolling boil.
  2. While the water is heating, divide the potatoes, corn, and sausage evenly among the 4 boil bags.
  3. Carefully place the bags into the boiling water. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove the bags from the boiling water. Add the shrimp and crab legs (if using) to each bag. Drizzle with melted butter.
  5. Securely tie each bag shut, leaving room for steam expansion. Return the bags to the pot of boiling water. Cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque, and the crab is heated through.
  6. Carefully remove the bags from the pot using tongs. Cut open the bags with kitchen shears (be careful of hot steam!). Pour the contents of each bag onto a platter or individual plates. Garnish with fresh parsley.
